Miss Tecumseh is the oldest running annual beauty pageant held in Essex County in Ontario, Canada. First held in 1976, the Miss Tecumseh Pageant has become a prestigious title, attracting participants from 17 to 27 from across the region including Windsor, LaSalle, Amherstburg, and more. The pageant is associated with the annual Tecumseh Corn Festival which is one of the top-rated Festivals in Ontario.
Currently, under the ownership and operations of Sonny Borrelli, the Miss Tecumseh Pageant and its new team is excited for this collaboration to continue the strong spirit of pageantry within Windsor Essex County.
Sonny Borrelli, Executive Director
Sonny’s involvement in pageants began in 2002 but expanded in 2014 when he became the Miss Universe Canada Regional Director of Western Ontario and more recently in 2022 when he acquired the rights to Miss Windsor, Miss Tecumseh and Miss LaSalle. As the director he over see’s the entire production including recruiting and developing the beautiful and talented young delegates in Western Ontario. Sonny graduated from the University of Windsor with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. He and his brother took over the family wine business Borrelli Cellars and have made it one of the most successful winemaking facilities in South Western Ontario.
At an early age, Sonny developed a passion for being on stage. He began hosting fashion shows, charity events, galas and weddings. Since 1997, he has been the ring announcer for Border City Wrestling and Host of Raise your Voice singing competition. Although he maintains a busy work schedule, Sonny still regularly makes time for hosting endeavours and charity work.
Melina Svab – Managing Director
As Managing Director of Miss Tecumseh, Melina Svab brings more than a decade of experience in the pageant world, pairing deep industry expertise with a strategic, people-first approach to mentorship. With a proven track record across a diverse range of competitions, including Miss Windsor, Miss LaSalle, Miss Tecumseh, and Miss Universe Canada, Melina has developed a well-rounded perspective on what it takes to cultivate confident, high-performing titleholders and standout delegates. As a former Miss Tecumseh 2019 titleholder, she brings authentic, firsthand insight into the demands of the stage and the responsibility of representing a community with excellence, integrity, and purpose.
Melina is a graduate of the University of Windsor, where she earned a degree in Visual Arts and Psychology, an interdisciplinary foundation that uniquely positions her to support delegates through both a creative and human-centered lens. Her approach blends presentation, branding, and stage presence with a strong understanding of mindset, confidence-building, and personal growth helping delegates refine not just how they show up, but how they evolve throughout the process.
Rooted in inclusivity, empowerment, and lifelong development, Melina’s vision for Miss Tecumseh is to deliver a best-in-class experience that is as transformative as it is inspiring. She is committed to fostering a high-trust, positive environment where delegates are encouraged to embrace their individuality, strengthen their skill sets, expand their leadership capacity, and step fully into their potential on stage and beyond.
