Sofia DiMario is 20-year-old from Windsor Ontario. She is a student at the University of Windsor, pursuing an honours-bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology. After she receives her degree, Sofia plans to write her Kinesiology licensing exam through the College of Kinesiologists. Once her licensing is complete, Sofia plans to continue in the medical field or she plans to pursue a career in the Funeral industry, (weird one, I know).Sofia chose Windsor Pride Community as her platform of choice. Watching her closest friends get bullied and harassed severely, for being who they are, Sofia wants to work on ending all forms of bullying and negative ideals around the LGBTQ+ community. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community herself, Sofia wants to fight for every member of the community to bring justice and equality for all.

Coming from a widowed-mother family, Sofia embraces feminism and is passionate about finding confidence and strength in all women. She is inspired by the strength and courage of Princess Diana. Battling mental health issues, Sofia is working on recovery by practising optimism and mindfulness. She wants to show the community that even the most confident queens can face challenges. She wants to end the stigma about mood disorders.

Without the support of her friends, family and members of the LGBTQ+ community, Sofia would not have the opportunity to represent her platform and herself during the Miss Tecumseh Pageant.
