Kristi Koutros
Kristi Koutros is an enthusiastic 24 years old, who was born and raised in Tecumseh. She is a recent graduate from the University of Windsor, completing her Masters in Social Work. Kristi is now a registered social worker and recently obtained her dream job at Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare. What inspired Kristi to become a social worker was her love and compassion for taking care of others.Since high school, Kristi learned the importance of giving back to her community. She was on the Tecumseh Youth Advisory Committee, where she took lead on a grant and was awarded $15,000 for the town, to put towards the advocacy of mental health for youth in Tecumseh. Currently, she still is an avid volunteer in her community, where she volunteers at Extendicare Southwood Lakes, Optimist Club of Riverside, Optimist Club – Reaching for the Stars, the Terry Fox Foundation, New Beginnings and Life After Fifty.“To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile”, this is one of Kristi’s favourite lines in the Optimist Creed. The Creed is what she strives to live by in her day to day life. Being an Optimist member, Kristi prides herself on community involvement and getting to know others.
Kristi found a love for the senior population within her community when her grandmother was in a nursing home. Since 2020, Kristi has volunteered at a local nursing home helping provide activities to seniors and combating isolation throughout the Covid-19 pandemic. Kristi also holds art classes at Life After Fifty once a month. If chosen as the next Miss Tecumseh, Kristi would further her partnership with Life After Fifty as it is a wonderful up in coming organization that is meeting the needs of our ageing population.
Kristi is so grateful for the Miss Tecumseh pageant as it has introduced her close friends, and has helped her gain more self-confidence. If given the chance to be Miss Tecumseh 2022 she would bring her optimism, compassion and love of volunteerism to the title and be a wonderful representation for the town of Tecumseh.
